Philippine Mobile Network Prefixes

Philippine Mobile Network Prefixes

Network queries are dial codes that identify your mobile network provider and access account information. These USSD codes work free on any phone without internet connection.

What are Network Prefixes?

A network prefix is the first four digits of an 11-digit Philippine mobile number. For example, in 09181234567, the prefix is 0918. Due to Mobile Number Portability (Republic Act 11202), prefixes no longer guarantee the current network operator. Always use real-time carrier lookup for accurate identification.

Important Notes About Mobile Number Portability

Republic Act 11202 (Mobile Number Portability Law) allows subscribers to switch networks while keeping their original number. This means a Smart number can change to Globe or vice versa if the subscriber requests a transfer. Prefixes no longer reliably indicate the current carrier operator due to this law. Always use real-time carrier lookup for accurate network identification in applications and systems.

International Calling Format

The country code for the Philippines is +63. When calling internationally, replace the leading 0 with +63. For example, 09181234567 becomes +639181234567. The domestic long-distance prefix is 0.

Calling Landlines from Mobile

Include the area code when calling landlines from your mobile phone. For example, to call 411-1234 in Cebu (area code 32), dial 32-411-1234. Manila’s area code is 02. Verify your landline account supports National Direct Dial (NDD) plans before attempting calls to landlines.

Calling Mobile from Landline

Dial the complete 11-digit mobile number. Most landline accounts can call mobile numbers without additional setup, though some may require NDD plan subscription for optimal routing.
