FROM 7,181 last Wednesday, coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases in the country rose to 7,835 yesterday while 154 more lost their battle against the deadly virus, according to the Department of Health.
In its latest bulletin, the DOH said the positivity rate stood at 14 percent out of the 51,358 tests conducted last October 12 while the toll rose to 40,221 for a case fatality rate of 1.49.
Overall, infections climbed to 2,698,232 while active cases rose to 84,850 from 82,411 last Wednesday, with 77.2 percent mild cases, 10.6 percent asymptomatic cases, 7 percent moderate cases, 3.6 percent severe cases, and 1.5 percent critical cases.
The DOH also reported 5,317 more recoveries, raising the number of survivors to 2,573,161. This means that 95.4 percent of COVID patients have recovered.
