MAJA Salvador feels so blessed to win best actress in the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2021 for her performance in the TV5 series “Niño Niña” that won as best drama series.
“We are so happy with the honors we received from the Asian Academy Creative Awards,” said Maja. “This will serve as an inspiration to encourage us to continue our good work in the show. Nagbunga ang lahat ng paghihirap namin sa lock-in taping ng show on a distant location. We’d also like to thank all the viewers who continue to support us every night.
Dahil sa inyo, maganda po ang ratings namin. Don’t miss future episodes lalo na nga po’t papasok na si Papa Piolo Pascual sa mga darating na araw na ito. Abangan nyo!”
In what is hailed as the Asian Emmys, TV5 bested entries from various networks and content providers in the country by bagging major awards.
TV5 also won the awards for Best Non-Scripted Entertainment (“Sing Galing”), Best Adaptation of an Existing Format (“The Wall Philippines”), and Best Promo/Trailer (“Iba sa 5”).
“This welcome recognition from a distinguished international institution strengthens our resolve to continue providing quality content that raises the bar for Philippine entertainment and inspires us to constantly produce world-class programs. We thank the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2021 for making all the combined efforts of TV5 and Cignal Entertainment well worth it,” declared Robert P. Galang, TV5 and Cignal CEO and president.
Joaquin Domagoso, the son Mayor Isko Moreno, attended the launch of “Caught in the Act” original soundtrack. He is the lead actor in the movie written and directed by Perry Escaño, but he doesn’t have a song in its six cuts. So why didn’t he record a song to be included in it?
“Sorry po but I don’t really sing,” he said. “Baka pumangit pa ‘yung album at ‘yung movie kapag kumanta ako. My co-stars are really the better singers, so para sa kanila talaga ito. I need more singing workshops to gain confidence before I can sing. Sasayaw na lang po ako.”
His co-stars in the movie who get to sing songs in the soundtrack are Andi Abaya, Jhassy Busran, Bamboo Bobadilla, Josh Lichtenberg and the father and son team of composers Alvin and Aio Barcelon.
“There are six original songs,” said Direk Perry. “”The themes are about friendship and camaraderie among students, about the importance of prioritizing your studies over love.
They are all feel-good songs. And everyone, both millennials and senior citizens, can relate with the songs as they’re about being in love at lahat naman tayo, nararanasan natin ‘yan.”
The film is intended to be an entry in the 2021 Metro Manila Film Festival.
‘I won’t want to share it with anyone kasi parang you’d lose your privacy, lalo in showing your bedroom. It will feel weird for me.’
Diego Lozyaga’s current film, “Bekis on the Run,” is still streaming on Vivamax but he now has a new movie to be shown on October 22, “House Tour.” And right now, he is shooting two new movies, one with Direk Mac Alejandre and Cindy Miranda and “Patungong Tayo” directed by Fifth Solomon, the launching film of his reel and real love team with Barbie Imperial.
“I truly feel so blessed,” he said. “Walang katigil-tigil ang dating ng film projects ko kahit may pandemic. And now I’m even paired with my girlfriend, so how lucky is that? I’m so grateful beyond words.”
And to think there was a time he turned his back on showbiz. “Nang mawala ako sa showbiz, nasayangan talaga ako with the opportunities coming my way na hindi ko lang na-appreciate. But now I’ve realized that I should always count my blessings. In my absence, that’s when I realized I could really do so much more.”
He’s thankful for getting a second wind. “Yes, thanks to God and to Boss Vic of Viva for giving me this second chance to do it all over again. I gladly take this new opportunity and I’m now making the most out of it. I’d also like to thank everyone who supported me. Now, I’m so busy and I like my busy schedule. It’s good for me. Basketball lang and working out and making films ang pinagkakaabalahan ko, so I’m really more focused with what I’m doing.”
What’s his role in the heist thriller, “House Tour”?
“Ako ang pinakamakulit member ng aming group who tries to be funny. Mga aspiring magnanakaw kami rito nina Mark Anthony Fernandez, Cindy Miranda and Marco Gomez.
Pinasok namin ang mansion ng mag-asawang Sunshine Guimary and Rafa Siguion Reyna while they’re on vacation. Ipinakita nila kasi ‘yun sa kanilang house tour sa vlog nila. This leads to some very exciting complications in the story.”
Would he himself show his own home in a house tour? “No, unang-una hindi maganda ang bahay ko. I’m just renting it, so I don’t wanna show the place. Pero kahit na maging maganda pa ang bahay ko, I still won’t give a house tour. I won’t want to share it with anyone kasi parang you’d lose your privacy, lalo in showing your bedroom. It will feel weird for me. I know na uso ‘yun, but that’s my personal opinion. Kaya siguro hindi ako nagba-vlog.”
