    WalterMart, SM Retail Inc.’s Luzon-based supermarket chain, is bringing convenience closer to neighborhoods with its brand of service “with a heart” as it opens two new stores in CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) for the remainder of the year.

    The company recently opened its 41st store in Antipolo, Rizal and will soon open another in Bacoor, Cavite by the end of October.

    WalterMart also recently reopened its legacy 7,000-square meter branch in E. Rodriguez Sr. avenue, Quezon City this year, WalterMart is growing its online grocery format through waltermartdelivery.co.ph.

    In September, it launched #14388 or the CallMeWally service. CallMeWally is WalterMart’s “same day pabili (to buy) and delivery “ service.

    Vaccines for Batangas

    Three Lopez Group companies — First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP), First College and First Balfour — have re-allocated 10,000 doses of their COVID-19 vaccines to the cities of Santo Tomas and Tanauan in Batangas which used the vaccines  to conduct the vaccination of their respective constituents between September 30 and Oct. 4, 2021.

    FPIP helped in coordinating the vaccination, which also benefited over 3,000 workers of companies located inside FPIP’s ecozone in Santo Tomas and Tanauan.

    The vaccines for the two LGUs come on top of, and separate from, the Covid-19 shots that Lopez Group companies are administering for their own employees. Other Lopez Group companies, like First Gen Corporation, are also re-allocating thousands of Covid-19 vaccines to various LGUs.

    MPIC joins TF on  reporting of nature-related risks

    Metro Pacific Investments Corp.  (MPIC) has recently become the pioneer company in Southeast Asia to join the TNFD (Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures) Forum, a global and multi-disciplinary consultative network of institutional supporters who expressed willingness to contribute to the work and mission of the Taskforce.

    The Forum provides an important complementary role in the TNFD governance structure, including supporting the development of the TNFD Framework in its five phases – building, testing, consulting, launch and dissemination, and uptake.

    Over the next two years, MPIC will champion the TNFD in the Philippines to encourage the country’s corporate and financial institutions to embrace the importance of reporting and acting on evolving nature-related risks. Successively, the company will adopt the Framework once it is launched in 2023.

    “We are committed to fully support the work of the Taskforce and contribute to the ultimate goal of curbing nature loss in any way we can,” MPIC chairman of the board Manuel V. Pangilinan declared.

    “MPIC has always made strategic and calculated efforts to conduct its businesses with nature-related risks and impacts in mind,” shared MPIC chief finance, risk and sustainability officer Chaye Cabal-Revilla.

    AstraZeneca reaches 10M dose milestone

    AstraZeneca delivered another 661,100 doses of COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca to the Philippines in October, reaching the more than 10 million dose milestone in support of the country’s mass vaccination programme.

    AstraZeneca, in partnership with the national government, local government, and the private sector is on track to deliver millions more doses between now and early next year directly and through the COVAX facility.

    Since the first deliveries in early 2021, the vaccine has helped prevent hundreds of thousands of hospitalizations and helped save tens of thousands of lives.1

    In clinical trials, COVID-19 Vaccine AstraZeneca demonstrated 100 percent efficacy against severe disease and hospitalisation after two doses, and real-world evidence shows the vaccine is around 80 to 90 percent effective against severe disease due to WHO-identified variants of concern.

    Cloud-based phone system service

    ShopeePay drives growth for merchants

    ShopeePay, Shopee’s all-in-one mobile wallet, recorded a 57X uplift in the number of ShopeePay partner merchants last 9.9 Super Shopping Day compared to the 4.4 Mega Shopping Sale.

    Among the growing list of ShopeePay partner merchants, Gong cha, National Book Store, and Moonleaf share how ShopeePay helps drive their brand’s growth through enhanced promotional strategies.

    For National Book Store, customers enjoy a safe and seamless experience with Shopeepay through its scan-to-pay features and exclusive promos.
