    Test before boarding

    Cebu Pacific extends until October 31 its free Test Before Boarding (TBB) program for passengers bound for Hong Kong.

    Passengers are advised to directly proceed to the Philippine Airport Diagnostic Laboratory (PADLAB) located at the second floor, NAIA Terminal 3 pre-departure area (near Gate 6), four hours before the scheduled time of departure.

    Antigen Test results will be released within 30 minutes, and only passengers with negative results may proceed to the check-in area.

    Guests unable to take the Antigen Test or receive a positive test result will not be accepted for check-in.

    GT Capital, Federal Land donation

    GT Capital Holdings Inc. and its property arm, Federal Land Inc. donated 4,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine to the local government of General Trias, Cavite on Oct. 1.

    Maynilad lone PH finalist for int’l digital award

    West Zone concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc. made it to the finals of Bentley Systems Inc.’s (Bentley) 2021 Going Digital in Infrastructure Awards, a global competition that recognizes outstanding use of technology in advancing infrastructure design, construction, and operations.Maynilad is the sole finalist from the Philippines.

    Maynilad’s entry under the competition’s “Water, Wastewater and Stormwater Networks” category demonstrated the innovative and effective use of Bentley’s hydraulic modeling software to optimize pump operations, which led to improved water pressure for 58,800 customers in the south.

    This Maynilad project is one of only 57 finalists chosen from nearly 300 nominations submitted by more than 230 organizations from 45 countries. Winners will be announced during the “Year in Infrastructure” virtual conference.

    World Smile Day

    Smile Train Philippines launched the #KayGandaNgBawatNgiti campaign as they invited Filipinos to celebrate World Smile Day® on October 1.

    Held annually on the first Friday of October, World Smile Day, is a day dedicated to inspiring everyone to do acts of kindness around the world. In line with Smile Train’s global message, “All Smiles are Beautiful”, Smile Train Philippines localized the campaign with #KayGandaNgBawatNgiti which aims to raise awareness for cleft-affected individuals, capturing the beauty of all kinds of smiles and mitigate discrimination towards those born with a cleft or other birth differences.

    In celebration of this year’s World Smile Day®, Ica Narvaez, a local artist, partnered with Smile Train Philippines to raise funds for cleft-affected individuals in need of lifesaving surgery and care through an online auction of her work.

    AIM welcomes Master in Entrepreneurship Class of 2023

    The Asian Institute of Management (AIM) through its Aboitiz School of Innovation, Technology, and Entrepreneurship (ASITE) officially welcomed the newest cohort of the Master in Entrepreneurship (ME) program this 11 October 2021.

    The ME Class of 2023 consists of 58 students hailing from a variety of industries, such as retail and wholesale trade, construction and engineering, agriculture, fisheries, and forestry, and food, beverage, and tobacco. To date, this is the largest ME cohort to enroll at AIM since it was last re-offered five years ago. They represent a diverse set of executive positions, industries, and experience.

    The ceremony opened with an address from the associate dean of AIM, Michelle Antero, PhD. Also present during the convocation were Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary, Ramon M. Lopez, and members of the AIM Alumni Board, Antonio Tambunting, ME Class of 2000, President of A. Tambunting Pawnshop, and Hermogenes Punzalan, ME Class of 2007 and Founder of Plaridel Products and Services, Inc., who all offered inspiring messages to the cohort. The ceremony ended with closing remarks from ME Academic Program Director, Professor Gaston Ortigas.

    “Our country needs people like you who can translate ideas into action and see opportunities where other people would see only problems,” Lopez said during his message. “You have come to the right place. The Master in Entrepreneurship Program will hone your leadership skills for more impact, and train you in value creation, scaling, and sustaining your business.”

    The Master in Entrepreneurship program of AIM is an 18-month part-time program designed specifically for business owners. It aims to help entrepreneurs create a solid platform for long-term business growth. The program focuses on developing high-impact organizational leadership skills and practical but innovative approaches to value creation and growth.
